Benefits Caseworker – South Wiltshire

Salary: up to £20,152 plus 6% pension contribution (pro rata)

Hours: 18.5 per week, part-time.

Term: Two-year post

Wiltshire Citizens Advice have secured funding from Action for Wiltshire, to provide a comprehensive welfare benefits advice service in the south Wiltshire Area assisting clients to access their entitlements to welfare benefits and other sources of financial help.  Advice will be provided by telephone and face-to-face, at bureau locations or through home visiting.

The Caseworker will be based in Salisbury but must be prepared to travel.  Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate substantial recent welfare benefits casework experience, an ordered approach to casework, willingness to use IT, a commitment to working in partnership with other agencies, and the interpersonal skills needed to ensure the success of a new service.

Social Policy Support Officer

10 hours per week - up to £19,515 p.a pro rata (subject to review)

1 year fixed term contract

33 days leave (incl. bank holidays) pro rata

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a national Citizens Advice pilot project aiming to empower and educate consumers. Wiltshire Citizens Advice has funding to support and develop areas of this work locally and is seeking an enthusiastic Social Policy Officer to join our team.  Ideally you will be based in our offices in Trowbridge or Chippenham.

 You will need to have a good understanding of current consumer issues and the importance and impact social policy has on individuals and the wider community.  You will be able to promote key issues internally and externally and develop partnerships. You will need an ability to record, monitor and analyse data and present and report on it. Excellent communication and IT skills are essential.
