Help with Energy Bills

Wiltshire Citizens Advice (WCA) have joined with Wiltshire Council, Wiltshire and Swindon Community Foundation, Community First, Ridgeway Care and Repair in the Warm Homes Healthy People Project.

WCA can provide information on reducing fuel costs. This page tells you how the WCA may be able to help you cut your fuel bills and deal with fuel debt.

Energy  Bills -  How WCA can help.

1 -   Our energy guide shows how to get the best energy deal for your usage and payment method.

2 -   Could you get a £120 rebate on your electricity bill?

See the information on the Warm Home Discount Scheme in the guide.

3 -   If you have fuel debt, can WCA help you negotiate lower repayments?

4 -   Can WCA help you apply to British Gas, EDF or npower Trust Funds to apply to get your fuel debt written off?

5 -   Can you get a grant for insulation / energy efficiency? The Energy Saving Trust on 0800 512 012 has details of available local and national grants. Ridgeway Care & Repair on 01380 735437 can help you organise insulation and associated building work.

6 -   Would a water meter reduce your water bills?

If you are a Wessex Water customer with water debt or struggling to pay the water bill, WCA may be able to help you apply for the Wessex Water Assist Scheme.

7 -   Wiltshire libraries have energy monitors you can borrow to help you manage your electricity usage.

8 -   Next winter WCA may be able to help households who are paying 10% of their income on fuel bills apply for grants to keep warm and well.
